PA's Secure Futures series is a programme of insights, events, and conversations emphasising the importance of public and private sector collaboration in delivering a secure future. To further understand the challenges ahead for aerospace, defence and security industry leaders - in the context of a changing Europe - we surveyed 6,000 citizens across nine countries: Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Sweden, and the UK.

What is a secure future? It’s a future where economic and societal resilience enable people to live freely and safely in a thriving, prosperous democracy. It’s the ultimate goal of an effective approach to national and international security – but it’s also a monumental task.
Our research reveals a growing tension between safety and preparedness, and between spending and investment trade-offs. But at the same time, promising parallels offer a platform for progress.
