With the completion of the DRAMA progamme in January, the second of our new "Additive Hours" -- now part of the Aerospace UP programme -- is on Tuesday 20 April; this one is a bit more than an hour, 11:00 - 12:30!

Please register below.

You will be able to join this virtual meeting using Microsoft Teams. You can register right up to the start of the meeting. We will then send you a link to join.

(if you don't have Teams, you don't need special software, or to download anything, you will be able to join on the web in a couple of clicks; for any issues email emma.burgess@midlandsaerospace.org.uk)

This week's agenda . . . Midlands AM "centres of excellence"

The Midlands is blessed with several centres of additive manufacturing excellence: at the Manufacturing Technology Centre, in our universities for example. They have a wide variety of additive manufacturing and related equipment in them. We'll take a virtual tour. And we'll focus on how aerospace suppliers can gain access to these facilities to help them on their own additive journeys.

Here's where we'll be going:

  • Materials Solutions, with Chris Barefoot, Head of Sales (UK), Materials Solutions a Siemens Energy Business

  • University of Nottingham, with Dr Marco Simonelli, Nottingham Research Fellow, University of Nottingham

  • Digital Manufacturing Centre, with David Thorne, Metals Application Engineer, Digital Manufacturing Centre

  • National Centre for Additive Manufacturing, with Ruaridh Mitchinson, Senior Research Engineer, The MTC & NCAM

More about the meeting

Come along with your coffee! Arrive early if you can -- like a "real" meeting -- to help us start on time. In fact, feel free to join a few minutes early to say hello.

You’ll be able to send us your questions and comments and network with other participants during the meeting.

And, although the meeting is nominally an hour, we often stay behind for 15 minutes more discussion and networking, just like a normal meeting -- all are welcome!

(All that's missing is the biscuits!)
