Call for SME manufacturers: Join the EMPOWER Energy-Insight Proposal
The Midlands Aerospace Alliance is partnering with Bloc Digital, Coventry University’s Institute for Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering (AME) and the University of Derby on EMPOWER, a major new Innovate UK project designed to help SME manufacturers reduce energy consumption, improve process stability and strengthen competitiveness.
We are now seeking aerospace and advanced-manufacturing SMEs to join our proposal.
If the proposal is successful, participating companies will join the EMPOWER consortium as partners. SMEs will be able to claim 70% of costs, larger organisations 60%. In addition, the EMPOWER consortium will provide free access to a next-generation digital tool that combines IoT energy sensing, machine activity and AI-driven analytics to reveal exactly how energy is used across your processes. Whether you operate CNC machining, precision assembly, forging, casting or heat-treatment operations, EMPOWER offers:
- Machine-level energy visibility, not just site-level totals
- Identification of inefficiencies linked to tool wear, thermal drift or abnormal loading
- Testbed-validated sensor recommendations tailored to your equipment
- Predictive insights to support maintenance planning and reduce unplanned downtime
- Clear, actionable improvement strategies to help lower costs and reduce carbon emissions
SMEs will join our team, work closely with our expert team to shape the system, validate real-world impact and benefit from tailored technical support. This is a unique opportunity to access cutting-edge digital capability and help develop a scalable solution designed specifically for high-integrity aerospace supply-chain manufacturers.
Register below for this EMPOWER project drop-in session. There are two times, it's the same meeting repeated so no need to sign up for both.
