Three directors appointed to support growth in Midlands aerospace

MAA election sees industry leaders join influential board

Strong leadership is vital to the continued regrowth of the aerospace industry. At the MAA, we are proud to be supported by over 60 senior aerospace leaders across our board and three working groups. Together, they bring a wide range of experience, knowledge and insights from organisations operating at every tier of the aerospace supply chain. They also drive our strategy that supports one of the largest aerospace clusters in the world.

AGM takes place in newly-opened factory

On 16th November, around 75 MAA members joined us for our AGM, which was hosted by MJ Sections in the company’s new factory that was opened earlier in the day by Andy Street, Mayor of the West Midlands.

There was an insightful agenda including the latest industry updates from MAA Chief Executive Dr Andrew Mair, news of funding available and innovative projects as well information about the work the MAA is doing to support members right across the region.

A number of MAA directors and industry specialists joined a panel to discuss current challenges and strategies in the aerospace supply chain - including Rob Holmes, Group Head of Business Development - Broadway Group; Samantha Buckton, Managing Director and President - Buckton Commercial Solutions; Hitendra Hirani, Sales Director and General Manager - Nottingham Drives Specialist Services, University of Nottingham; Tony Allen, Strategy Executive - Rolls-Royce; and Tony Tinley, Regional Officer - Unite the Union.

Delegates also met senior leaders from MJ sections and enjoyed a tour of both the new factory and existing facilities on site.
