Why train through the MAA?
Confidence in the MAA brand means well-organised, well-run courses usually delivered at manufacturing sites in a live working environment.
The MAA carefully selects trainers on your behalf, ensuring you access effective training and more than just a PowerPoint presentation.
The MAA will help you gain a return on your training investment by:
- Organising value added activity – wherever possible, tools and techniques will be used in real time, on real processes and at real companies.
- Removing the risks involved in sourcing the right training providers.
- Benefiting from cost reductions through one-to-many training, with limited numbers ensuring hands-on experience of the tools and techniques.
- Training in industry clusters – bringing your people together with their peers, improving networks, benchmarking the best in the region and training in a live environment.

Value Stream Mapping
Value Stream Mapping (VSM) is a lean manufacturing technique used to analyse the flow of materials and information in any process by identifying waste activities. This effective methodology is used to identify improvements and strip out costs.
This workshop will comprise of a short classroom-based presentation element, followed by a live mapping exercise on real manufacturing processes.
|
The presentation element will cover:
|
|
The mapping element will be to split into teams to map a manufacturing process (max of 6 per team), to ensure that the participants gain hands-on experience of the process.
The workshop is held at a regional host company and has been designed to give participants practical skills to use on their own processes and identify real cost saving improvements.
Course numbers are limited to ensure hands-on experience and enable attendees to use this powerful tool back in their own organisations.

Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis (PFMEA)
Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA) is a leading tool for product development and operations management. Used to analyse potential failure modes within any process and classify them by the severity and likelihood of the failures.
A successful PFMEA activity helps teams identify potential failure modes based on past experience. This enables the team to design failures out of the system with minimum effort and resource expenditure, thereby reducing time and costs.
This workshop will comprise a short based presentation element followed by a live FMEA exercise on a real manufacturing processes.

The presentation element will cover:
|
|
The presentation element and group exercises are designed to embed learning and give candidates an opportunity to use the tools on real processes.
The workshop is held at a regional host company and will give participants practical skills to use on their own processes and identify real cost savings.
