Ideagen Plc, the Nottingham-based information management software provider, announced the acquisition of IPI late in 2016.
Mansfield-based IPI Solutions has over 500 customers such as GE Aviation, Sikorsky, Augusta Westland and Meggitt and will help to consolidate Ideagen’s position in the aerospace industry.
IPI is the developer of Visual FAIR, a popular software application for first article inspection creation. The software already integrates with Q-Pulse, Ideagen’s flagship quality and safety management application, and the companies already had customers in common.
Q-Pulse is the proven quality, compliance safety and risk management solution for thousands of organisations across the world. It is used widely within manufacturing industries - including all of the top seven global aerospace and defence companies - to streamline the management and reporting of quality and safety information.
IPI Software’s quality inspection applications, including VisualFAIR are now incorporated under Q-Pulse, Ideagen’s quality management solution, extending Q-Pulse functionality to include bill of materials data, 2D or 3D design data, CMM results, ballooning, measurement, signature, composite pdf export and complete FAI with email, print and upload.
The addition of the VisualFAIR to Q-Pulse automates First Article Inspection and other quality inspection processes that help users improve the efficiency and reliability of quality inspection work, safeguard customer relationships through timely consignment of goods with accurate documentation, and reduce the risks of non-conformance and supply chain disruption. Product planning, prototyping and inspection activities are automated, mistake-proofed and streamlined.
The acquisition of IPI is coherent with Ideagen’s strategy of acquiring businesses with strong IP and healthy recurring revenues.
